Pacifica Christian High School is looking for full-time faculty in a variety of subject areas for the 2024-25 school year. Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree in education, a specific field, and/or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate is also mature in Christian faith, with significant, sustained investment in a local church community and a life rich in devotion and/or spiritual discipline. We expect all Pacifica employees to support our community-wide project to use academics, extracurriculars, and personal relationships as a means of grace to help all involved become more fully human in the recognition and restoration of the image of God within us.

Duties
Reception
Be available at the front desk to greet visitors & families, addressing any questions or concerns
Ensure the lobby is organized and presentable
Support security staff to ensure that only authorized visitors are on campus
Answer main phone line and direct calls accordingly
Retrieve students from class for parents
Administrative Support
Manage daily student attendance by documenting parent calls from the attendance line
& recording in MyPacifica Attendance Portal. Print daily attendance reports (Uncleared
absences are changed to truants at the end of the day if parent has not called in.)
Distribute AM Detention Lunch Detention assignments to students weekly
Schedule substitute teachers as needed. (Interview potential substitutes, prepare
attendance rosters & lesson plans for substitutes,& print worksheets, if needed.)
Log substitute hours, AM Detention hours, & Saturday School hours for payroll
Support printing and processing of transcripts
Log student ACT & SAT scores in Naviance
Manage the employee parking lot including spot assignment and issue response
Drop off daily mail at the mailbox or Post Office & distribute mail received
Fill copy machines w/paper daily & monitor supplies of paper, toner, & staples
Make morning coffee for staff and help keep kitchen clean and orderly
Support all major events including open houses, back-to-school night,
and awards night
Support Graduation planning and execution
Manage office supply inventory including, coffee & lunch service items, testing
booklets, scantron forms & late slips
Manage the relationship with the copy machine vendor
Contact & coordinator for CFP Studio for student & sports photos
Update Classroom Emergency Folders
Manage archived Student Records
Nurse's Office Duties
Document vaccinations for new students in the MyPacifica Nurse's Portal
Distribute medication to students & document in Nurses' Portal
Manage supplies of medication & bandages
Prepare ice packs to have on hand for injured athletes
Contact Staci Lane or Admin Team in the event of a serious injury
Prepare All-School Retreat Binders for Waivers & Student Medication

High school should not be a competitive proving ground, but unfortunately, the college landscape has impacted the virtue of learning for learning's sake. Pacifica students are encouraged to find a balance between rigor and relaxation-a practice intentionally implemented throughout the class schedule, homework load, and coursework itself.

As a Christian school, Pacifica students learn from faculty who live out their faith. In the classroom and through other experiences, students are encouraged to examine their own relationship with God by exploring life's most important questions, contemplating meaning and purpose, and pursuing goodness and truth in their day to day lives. As a community, we daily strive to love God with hearts, souls, and minds, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:34-40).
