Archaeologist Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Archaeologist in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Summary: Responsible for business development, project management, report preparation, supervision of Cultural Resources Management (CRM) field staff conducting archaeological survey, site recording, excavation, and/or mitigation. The ideal candidate must demonstrate effective communication, organization, and leadership skills with relevant regional experience in all phases of CRM.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Serve as the cultural resource lead for complex cultural resource investigations.
- Conduct marketing and business development.
- Support client care through effective communication and coordination.
- Coordinate and consult with relevant state and federal agencies.
- Support proposal development, including scoping, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Establish project procedures and budgetary constraints to assure that projects
are concluded within budget and on time. - Plan, conduct, and lead cultural resources surveys, site recording, excavations, monitoring, and other fieldwork duties.
- Conduct and lead laboratory work, including prehistoric and historic artifact identification, cataloging, and analysis.
- Assist staff with permit compliance and other agency/regulatory
stipulations. - Author cultural resources reports, research designs, treatment plans, and other technical documents.
- Maintain quality assurance/quality control protocols to ensure delivery of high quality technical documents.
- Management and supervision of staff members for cultural resource investigations throughout New Mexico.
- Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field.
- Six years of experience in CRM as a Principal Investigator, with 10 years of supervisory experience (preferably in New Mexico and/or the Southwest).
- Valid Driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork in extreme terrain and environmental conditions.
Benefits: - This is a salaried, full-time position with an anticipated salary of $62,400-$83,200 depending on experience and qualifications.

ADA Notations: - Some sedentary work is performed in an office setting. Outdoors. Rugged to extremely rugged terrain in extreme temperature ranges, often in uninhabited areas.
- Must be able to walk 8-10 miles a day with field pack and ample water, over rough terrain in variable weather conditions which likely will include high temperatures in summer months.
- A portion of the duties require working outdoors under extreme temperature, strenuous physical effort associated with hiking during archaeological reconnaissance and surveys, such as climbing steep slopes, and physical labor such as stooping, bending, carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds associated with archaeological excavation work.
