Job Description

Job Summary: Blue Grass Automotive is seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Controller for our automotive dealership in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a full-time, individual contributor position in the Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the auto industry and possess exceptional financial management and leadership skills. Responsibilities: - Oversee all financial operations of the dealership, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis - Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and ownership - Develop and maintain strong relationships with lending institutions, accountants, and other external partners - Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing training and development opportunities as needed - Review and approve all financial transactions and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures - Participate in the development and implementation of strategic financial initiatives - Monitor key performance indicators and make recommendations for improvement - Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to accounting and financial operations - Coordinate and assist with annual audits and tax filings - Stay current on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve financial processes and procedures Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or similar role within the automotive industry - Strong understanding of dealership financial operations and industry-specific accounting practices - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with dealership management software - Demonstrated leadership and management skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - Detail-oriented and analytical, with strong problem-solving skills - CPA certification preferred but not required EEO Statement: Blue Grass Automotive is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
