The Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice is an essential component of the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences as it is the home of our clinical pharmacy practice faculty, who are developing and delivering didactic and experiential curricula for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Our innovative curriculum focuses on integrative health and putting the patient first. Our goal is to train students in the classroom and in the field to improve our society's health and well-being.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice seeks a Research Data Analyst with knowledge and experience in health data analysis to support a variety of research projects conducted by department faculty. The incumbent performs data analysis using a variety of factors, and utilizes experience in computational research tools/procedures, data science, and biostatistics to complete projects of moderate scope and complexity. The ideal candidate has a background in biostatistics, a working knowledge of SQL, Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data model, and controlled medical vocabularies such as ICD and SNOMED-CT.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of modern biology and/or applicable health field of research.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Effective communication skills to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly, and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of application and data security concepts and data management systems, practices and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute research and/or technical content to grant proposals.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, public health or related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • 2 or more years of experience
  • Background in biostatistics.


Preferred:

  • Familiarity with health data common data models, particularly Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model
  • Working knowledge of medical vocabularies such as ICD-9/10, SNOMED-CT, CPT, and RxNorm
  • Experience working at an academic medical center
  • Strong experience in working with electronic health records (EHR) data, with experience in longitudinal data management
