Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Electric Generation System Specialist III (Supervisor) in the Renewable Energy Division’s Building Initiative for Low-Emissions Development (BUILD) Unit, the Energy Analyst performs varied consultative and analytical work of average difficulty in the field of building decarbonization in support of the Building Initiative for Low-Emissions Development Program, the California Electric Homes Program, and the Energy Conservation Assistance Act Program. The incumbent will serve on a team whose duties may include but are not limited to administering grant and loan program, technical documentation analysis, engagement with stakeholders, and development and maintenance of reports and lists used inform decisions on utility and state renewable energy and distributed generation programs.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. Occasional travel may be required to attend in person meetings or events at headquarters in Sacramento, which will be at your personal expense.

  • Analyze data and present ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing, consult with and advise administrators or other interested parties on a wide variety of subject matter areas.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
