Thomas Hurvis Professor of Organizational Psychology and Collaboration and Assistant Professor of Psychology Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for the J. Thomas Hurvis Professor of Organizational Psychology and Collaboration, a tenure-track position appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor with a focus on organizational psychology, to begin September 1, 2025. Appointment at the associate level may be considered commensurate with the candidate's experience. We seek an individual who is a dedicated teacher passionate about working with undergraduates in a liberal arts setting, an active and engaging scholar, and an effective mentor for students from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-level courses related to organizational psychology (e.g., industrial-organizational psychology, a laboratory course in organizational psychology, diverse groups and teams, advanced topics course in the faculty member's specialty). Additionally, this position will contribute to foundational psychology courses (e.g., intro, research methods) and senior capstone on rotation. This position also contributes to Lawrence's Innovation and Entrepreneurship program (e.g., by cross-listing courses). Primary duties include: teaching, leading occasional tutorials and supervising independent study projects and internships; grading, advising and mentoring students; assisting in curricular planning; and, related departmental and institutional service. The teaching load is two courses per term (one course with 2 laboratory sections count as a full load) for three ten-week terms a year, including participation in Lawrence's flagship First Year Studies program on rotation. The First Year Studies curriculum presents an interdisciplinary introduction to the liberal arts intended to support new students' fundamental skills as readers, writers, and thinkers. Candidates' research may be in any area of organizational psychology. Candidates are expected to lead undergraduate research projects and connect scholarship with teaching. Laboratory space and start-up funds are available. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in organizational psychology or a closely related field prior to the time of appointment (9/1/2025); ABD is acceptable for selection.
