Visiting, Assistant or Associate Professor of Music: Choral Director The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND invites applications for a Visiting, Assistant or Associate Professor of Music to begin fall 2024. The candidate will conduct the University of Mary Concert Choir (in addition to other smaller ensembles of interests/skillset), and teaches other courses in the music curriculum based on candidate's strengths and interests. The candidate is also involved in the development of the music curriculum and community.

Responsibilities Include: - Directs the University of Mary Concert Choir (in addition to other smaller ensembles of interest/skillset)
- Teaches in other areas within the Music Department based on strengths and interests (sacred music, theory, history, methods, applied voice, conducting, etc. at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Curates and directs annual Christmas at Mary Concerts
- Helps organize and facilitate annual fall departmental tour
- Advises music majors/minors.
- Participates in departmental activities, including recruiting, planning, and accreditation.
- Participates in departmental and university committees
Qualifications and Requirements Include: - Required: Master's degree
- Required: Successful experience directing choirs
- Preferred: Earned doctorate degree in choral conducting or ABD with degree completion by May 2024
- Preferred: Five years teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level; two years of college teaching experience (graduate teaching assistantships with substantial teaching responsibility acceptable). Experience in sacred music and/or K-12 music education and vocal jazz preferred.
