Company Description Aktion Parks is a boat and cable park operation that delivers customers an active watersports lifestyle that is safe, healthy, family-friendly, and environmentally conscious. Aktion Parks owns and operates both Miami Watersports Complex and Orlando Watersports Complex, two of the largest cable wakeboard parks in the U.S. and two of the most recognized parks in the world. Job Description Are you looking to join the Aktion Water Parks family and help guests to experience wakeboarding, water skiing, inflatable Aqua Park, and riding in a world-class Nautique boat? We have a fun Summer Seasonal position for you! We encourage college students to join our team as we can work around your class schedule. The right candidate will be responsible for our summer camp and instructing them on the proper way of riding while maintaining safety during their weekly session. We offer 30 hours per week, $13/hour; work hours will be between 9:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Duties and responsibilities while working as an operator/instructor. - Instruct the campers on the proper usage of equipment and lifejackets.
- Teaching the campers the cable rules (i.e. safety rules, proper exiting, buoys, etc.)
- Assisting the campers with any problems.
- Monitoring camper's conduct and enforcing riding rules.
- Retrieving ropes, boards, etc., when needed.
- Overseeing the safety of fallen skiers and assisting the campers out of the lake if needed and if qualified.
- Coordinating daily schedule with other counselors and team
- Following all safety rules and serving as a leading example to others.
- Attending seminars and safety meetings on a regular basis.
- Dispatch campers safely and quickly.
- Diagnose problems and inform the manager on duty if an unusual problem occurs.
Qualifications Qualifications: - Able to clean facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must maintain equipment and perform basic maintenance.
- Minimum availability of Monday-Friday 9:30 am-4:30 pm
- Must complete a background check.
- Ground-keeping duties that involve the operation of mowers, saws, and other tools.
- Able to perform maintenance and corrosive prevention that includes handling paint and other chemicals and adhesives.
- Must have a flexible schedule.
- CPR and First Aid certified preferred
- AED Certified preferred
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to work in various weather outside during shifts.
- Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit, and turn/pivot.
- Lift/lower, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
