Job Description

Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers. We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer and Assistant Purchasing Manager to purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. As a Senior Buyer, you ll play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing goods and services for our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchases goods and services according to the company s policies and procedures.
• Lead, develop, train and mentor a team of buying professionals.
• Issuance, review and approval of compliant purchase orders.
• Works with vendors to negotiate the best price, value and terms.
• Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
• Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Expertise Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Bachelor s degree
• Deltek Costpoint experience a plus and preferred but not required
• Flight parts purchasing experience preferred but not required
• 10 Years of buying or purchasing related experience a plus and preferred
