Job Type: Contract/1099 - Per Diem
As a WordPress Developer with us, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working on a project basis. The hours will vary depending on client needs, making this a freelance, per project, consultant work. This setup allows you to manage your time effectively.
Description: As a WordPress Developer, your in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages (HTML, CSS, and PHP) will be crucial. You will be the one planning and building new WordPress websites for our clients, designing within given parameters, implementing custom functionality, and meeting various client requirements. Your role will also involve maintaining and updating existing websites. You will set website creation and development timelines in conjunction with the client and communicate with clients as needed to keep projects running smoothly.
The candidate should have an understanding of industry trends, as well as experience creating responsive and adaptive designs based on client input. Understanding the full web development process, including design, development, and deployment, is required. WordPress-specific experience with SEO and ADA compliance is also advantageous.
Job Responsibilities: - Work with clients to determine website design, visual elements, user experience, and functionality.
- Provide a timeline and plan for website projects.
- Develop and maintain WordPress-based websites, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Customize WordPress themes and plugins as needed to achieve project requirements.
- Conduct WordPress training with the client when needed.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with the client on deliverables.
- Establish and guide website architecture and organization.
- User experience review with various devices and platforms
- Troubleshoot website functionality or content issues.
- Optimize websites for speed, mobile responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development and design trends, tools, and technologies.
- Research plugins and integrations to meet clients’ needs.
Skill Requirements: - Proficiency in WordPress development, including theme and plugin development
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. .
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector or Firebug.
- Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
- Ability to create attractive and user-friendly websites according to client specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications.
- Ability to translate design mockups into functional WordPress websites.
- Ability to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
Bonus Points: - Understanding of PHP back-end development.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce.
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (ie. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Understanding of server management and DevOps with AWS.
- Experience in technology-driven organizations.
- Experience designing websites for federal, state, or local government contractors.
The position is a contract position, paid as 1099, and is a work-from-home opportunity with flexibility and autonomy within the timeline parameters. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, independent, and possess excellent communication skills. Our team will meet with clients during regular business hours; therefore, we require all team members to be available for calls and virtual meetings.
